Dev log - Week 4

Nuno:

This week I (and the rest of the team) brainstormed what the workshop should be about, in particular, what parts of the design would benefit most from outside ideas, and what would be the best method to gather them. Eventually we decided on having participants give concepts related to specific words we chose (weight, flow, landmark, among others), and then zen voting on the most interesting concepts.

João Silva:

This week, together with the rest of the team I searched for interesting workshop activities that could potentially  provides us with desgin ideas that we could use for our game. Besided the workshop I also started working on the first prototype.  Together with Rafael I tested different cameras using cinemachine. We found interesting customization features that cinemachine offers but haven't reached anything definite.

Francisco Sousa:
This week we organized a workshop with several people to discuss and develop conepts and ideas for Project Barren. Me and Rafael helmed the discussion, as we all firstly explored different concepts related to the game without the participants knowing what the game was about, and then proceeded to brainstorm and theorize various ideas about the game when the participants were all caught up, which added a lot to our development and design space. We are still discussing the overall narrative with the writing team, all while continuing the development of the game in Unity.

Rafael:
The dot/zen voting I helmed, worked quite well. It started out with an explanation and discussion of our game.  After users had a good idea, we asked them to come up with new things, or important parts for our game to have. It then became a zen voting experiment, where users silently voted.  We had a few quite simple ideas that we hadn't thought of. I think my favourite was the idea of adding a day night cycle that would change or replace the landmarks. If this is something we can implement without much hassle it's something we might go for.
